Hunterston B
Hunterston B was built a few years after A station became operational and is located next to its sister station. It started generating electricity in 1976 and is an Advanced Gas Cooled Reactor which was one of the very first in operation.
Its net electrical output is 1,215 MW and Operating at a reduced level of around 70% of full output until it is decomissioned in 2016. Hunterston B is capable of supplying the electricity needs of over 1 million homes.
